The best blog?
June 8, 2006For a while now I’ve been checking in to The Perpetual Refugee, the blogsite of a guy in Lebanon with a rare gift for words and communicating wild experiences — like visiting Israel. It could just be the answer to the vexing question: what’s possibly the best blog in the world?
Lisa Goldman of On the Face, another great Mediterranean blog, met him in Tel Aviv a few weeks ago. It was the the kind of meeting you’d like to have been at, but at the same time, wouldn’t have wanted to intrude on. I bet they did solve the problems of the Middle East over a bottle of wine, staring out at the shifting ocean.
Lisa’s blog gives a very different impression of Israel from the grim stuff we generally see in the media. It’s a jewel of a site.
Rob, thank you so much for the link and the kind words. I’m very touched.
Lisa, thank you for stopping by. I absolutely love your blog. It opens the kind of window on the Middle East those of us cursed with the MSM’s blinders don’t often get to look through — full of light, hope and promise.
