Matchless Mozart

October 4, 2006

The Vienna State Opera performed Mozart’s Die Zauberflote last night and we were there.

It was beyond description. Everything worked as it should, and perfectly.

  1. Multo invidioso.

My only comfort is that two weeks ago I witnessed Gergiev conduct the Vienna Philharmonic playing Shostakovich, Brahms and Schubert here in lil’ ol’ Sydneytown.

  2. Good, Fyodor.

I caught Don Giovanni in Zagreb tonight and most pleasantly impressed.
