Bat Ye’or on ‘Palestinianism’

April 27, 2007

The famous but pseudonymous Bat Ye’or has railed for years against the Islamification of Europe, and she it was who coined the term ‘Eurabia’ to describe Arabification of the Old World.

This recent interview with her is an interesting read, but mainly for negative reasons. I can kind of see where she’s coming from, but I don’t buy a word of it. Her argument is best described as ‘coherent hysteria’ — a bit like screaming madly on the inside of your skull while talking calmly and lucidly on the outside (or vice versa). It’s what we expect of earnest believers in alien abduction, or the more intelligent manifestations of Bush (and Howard) Derangement Syndrome — yes, there are some, but it doesn’t excuse their authors.

Bat Ye’or gives the rest of us neo-con gutter-dwellers a bad name.

  1. You don’t need her talents, yours are on ample display, just ask the Wolf-Man’s girlfriend…

  2. Lost me there, Chav.

  3. Quite. Saying this, how can you like Ms Glick who is no less hysterical? Well, at least some of the time.

  4. Snoopy, Bat Ye’or seems to have imagined into existence a kind of Protocols of the Elders of Islam. I don’t see that in Glick. Impassioned, yes, and occasionally shrill, but not paranoid.
